Once upon a time, there was a king named Midas and his daughter. The king liked gold a lot. He asked the gods, “Turn everything I touch into gold!” And they did!
At first, it was fun. He touched a rock and it became gold. A flower turned shiny, too! When he tried to eat, the food turned into gold sadly. Then, he kissed his daughter. She turned into a gold statue and couldn’t move or talk.
The king was unhappy. The gods turned everything back to normal. At last, the king said, “The most important thing for me is my daughter, not all the gold in the world.”

むかしむかし、ミダスという王様とその娘がいました。王様は金が大好きでした。王様が神々に「私が触れるものすべてを黄金に変えてください」と願うと、神々は王様の願いを叶えました。
最初は楽しいものでした。王様が岩に触れると金に変わり、花も輝きました！しかし、王様が食べ物を口にしようとした時は悲しいことに、それも金に変わってしまいました。それから、王様は娘にキスをしました。すると、娘は金の像に変わり、動くことも話すこともできなくなってしまいました。
王様は不幸になりました。神々はすべてを元に戻しました。最後に王様は言いました。「私にとって一番大切なのは娘であり、世界中の金ではないのだ。」
